A disability awareness day will be taking place on Tuesday 26 August at White River Place, St Austell.

Alongside the shopping centre’s Terrific Tuesday art workshops, running in partnership with The Old Press Gallery, the disability awareness day will bring magician Billy Whizz, a bouncy castle and more family fun to St Austell.

Organised by Go! St Austell Shopmobility, the fun day will feature a number of disability charity groups including Disability Cornwall, Cornwall People First, Ataxia UK, Parkinson’s, Hearing Loss, Enable, Scope, Health Watch Cornwall, Pentreath Industries and Mobility Centre South West.

The fun day will run from 10am to 4pm and the Terrific Tuesday art workshops will be open from 11am – 3pm. Both are free to attend.

Sarah Pechkaytis, Operations Manager at White River Place said: “Our summer holiday Terrific Tuesdays have been going really well, with lots of people coming down to take part in the art workshops and make sculptures of their hands as part of the Old Press Gallery’s commemorative art project. With lots of families visiting the centre, it’s a great opportunity to also hold a disability awareness day and welcome local and national charities to showcase the excellent work they do, while putting on lots of entertainment for the children to enjoy.”
