Clive Tregarthen Mumford was born in Scilly in July 1938 of an old island family. He was educated in the islands, on the mainland at Blundell’s School and at Trinity College, Dublin.
He worked for over 20 years as a newspaper journalist, before returning in 1984 to run the family newsagent’s business on St. Mary’s. Clive is the editor of Scilly’s longest-running publication ‘The Scillonian” which was first published in 1925. He continues to write as a freelance journalist and is a member of the isles of Scilly Council.
